The higher the resolution, the more accurate are the images. An image with the old analog technology was not more than 0.4 megapixels and a recorded image is usually 0.1 megapixels (CIF). By contrast, a 3.1 megapixel camera MOBOTIX recorded about 30 times more detail, allowing larger areas to capture images up to a panoramic view of 360 °, thus reducing the number of cameras and therefore costs. By way of example, with a MOBOTIX camera can record four tracks at a gas station, while traditional technology would need four cameras.
